In Spain a Tortilla is an omelette made with eggs, potatoes, olive oil and salt to which other ingredients such as peppers, chorizo, onion, tuna, asparagus and mushrooms are sometimes added (this is sometimes known as a Spanish omelette). This is a thick omelette that's cut into wedges and may be consumed either hot or cold.
In Mexico Tortilla refers either to a soft flatbread made from corn or wheat flour or to spicy triangular corn chips that are often served as an accompaniment to salsa and guacamole dips.
