This is a continuation of an entire series of pages that will, I hope, allow my visitors to better navigate this site. As well as displaying recipes by name, country and region of origin I am now planning a whole series of pages where recipes can be located by meal type and main ingredient. This page gives a listing of all the Sorbet recipes added to this site.

These recipes, all contain Sorbet as a major wild food ingredient.

A Sorbet is a semi-frozen water ice made from fruit, sugar syrup, wine and/or liqueur. This should be even in texture and free from ice crystals. As a result it's most often made in an ice-cream maker. But addition of liqueur allows you to achieve the same effect in your freezer. It is traditionally served as a palate cleanser between courses but these days it's more often consumed as a refreshing desert, decorated with a sprig of mint.
