This is a continuation of an entire series of pages that will, I hope, allow my visitors to better navigate this site. As well as displaying recipes by name, country and region of origin I am now planning a whole series of pages where recipes can be located by meal type and main ingredient. This page gives a listing of all the Farfalle recipes added to this site.

These recipes, all contain Farfalle as a major wild food ingredient.

Farfalle is a style of Italian pasta that has a 'bow tie' twisted shape. The name itself is derived from the Italian farfalla (butterfly) with the feminine plural ending 'e'. Thus farfalle are 'butterflies'; a reference to their shape. As with all pasta types the shape is designed for specific sauces and farfalle are excellent with tomat or rich cheese sauces as these cling to the large surface area of the pasta. Fusilli makes a reasonable substitute if farfalle are not available.
