Empanadas are flaky meat pies made from olive-oil pastry. They are served as a form of tapas in Spain and they are a popular snack in Latin America The classic empanada comes from Galicia in north-west Spain and is made with chicken, onions and peppers. Most commonly they are filled with meat, but fish, vegetable, cheese and even fruit can be used.
