Taro Fritters are a popular dish in Oceanic cuisine, made with grated taro, coconut milk, and a hint of spice. These fritters are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, making them a delightful snack or side dish.

Ingredients:

300g grated taro
120ml coconut milk
4 tbsp plain (all-purpose) flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
1/4 tsp chilli flakes
Oil for frying

Method:

In a large bowl, mix together the grated taro, coconut milk, flour, salt, black pepper, and chili flakes. Mix well to form a thick batter.

Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.

Scoop spoonfuls of the taro batter and carefully drop them into the hot oil.

Cook the fritters for 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden brown and crispy.

Remove the fritters from the oil and set them on a paper towel to drain any excess oil.

Serve the Taro Fritters hot with your favourite dipping sauce.
