Ingredients:
1kg braising chops or steak
1 onion, chopped
3 tbsp tomato sauce
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
salt and black pepper, to taste
1/4 tsp mustard powder
1/4 tsp curry powder
1/4 tsp freshly-grated ginger
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp vinegar
250ml water
plain flour to dust
Method:
Dust the meat with the plain flour then fry gently on both sides. Place in a casserole dish.
Mix the remaining ingredients together and pour over the meat. Place in an oven pre-heated to 160°C (320°F/Gas Mark 3) and bake for about 90 minutes, or until the meat is very tender.
