Ingredients:

400g cooked beans (any kind) [tinned is fine]
salt and freshly-ground black pepper, to taste
2 tbsp olive oil
360g beef, cut into bite-sized pieces
50g plain flour
2 tbsp tomato purée
1 tbsp paprika

Method:

Heat the oil in a pan and use to fry the onion until soft and translucent (about 6 minutes). Add the beef and fry until well browned then season with salt and black pepper. Stir-in 500ml of water then bring the mixture to a boil, reduce to a simmer and cook for 30 minutes, or until the meat is tender. Sprinkle the flour over the top then whisk to combine (add more water if necessary os you have a thick stock).

Stir-in the beans, tomato purée and the paprika and cook for 5 minutes more, or until heated through. Serve with generous chunks of crusty bread.
