This is a traditional drink from Lebanon that is also commonly prepared in the Gulf states (Bahrain, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates) and is often served cold to guests when tea or coffee are not desired.

Ingredients:

3 drops red food colouring
1l atter syrup
iced water

Method:

Combine the atter syrup and red food colouring in a large jug. Pour over 2l of iced water, allow to cool and serve.

The pink colouring and rose origin of this drink also makes this excellent for serving for Valentine's day.
