This is a traditional American camping recipes for a scone baking mix that's moulded around a stick and cooked over a fire. When done, the stick is removed and the hole is filled with jam. If you're looking for something new to cook on a campfire or to do on bonfire night, why not give this recipe a go?

Ingredients:

300g oil baking mix
100ml water (about)
jam for filling

Method:

First get some green wood then remove the bark. Smooth out the sticks and set aside.

Prepare the baking mix and turn into a bowl. Add just enough of the water so the baking mix is just tacky to the tough.

Knead very lightly then mould the mix around your sticks. Cook it on all sides over a fire (or, if doing this indoors cook under a grill [broiler], turning frequently). When the biscuits are cooked through carefully remove the stick and fill the hole in the middle with the jam of your choice. Serve warm.
