Crowberry Juice is a modern American recipe (from Alaska) for a classic method of extracting juice from crowberries for drinking or for use as a base for other dishes. The full recipe is presented here and I hope you enjoy this classic American version of: Crowberry Juice.
Place the crowberries in a bowl and use a potato masher to crush them. Mix in the water and crush again.
Scrape the mixture into a saucepan and bring just to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes more. Take off the heat and pour the mixture into a jelly bag. Set aside to drain into a bowl over night (resist the temptation to press down with a spoon or whatever you use the juice for will become cloudy).
This juice can be used immediately, or it can be frozen for later use.
