Panettone is a large, round yeasted fruit cake from Italy, traditionally eaten at Christmas and Easter. These are baked in a special tubular mould that gives the cake height.
Panettone can be served by itself as a dessert, accompanied by sweet wine or it can be toasted and buttered. It also makes a truly wonderful bread and butter pudding.

Pannacotta is a classic Italian dessert that's made by simmering together cream, milk and sugar, mixing this with gelatin, and letting it cool until set. The name itself literally means 'cooked cream' in Italian and it originally referred to a creamy, set dessert from the Northern Italian region of Piedmont. It is often served with a sweet sauce made of sugar and juiced fruit.
