This is another kind of sweetened breakfast porridge, this time made from rice.
Ingredients:
150g raw rice
600ml water
1/2 tsp salt
80ml milk
1 tsp margarine
sugar, to taste
Method:
Combine the water and salt in a pan and bring to a boil. Add the rice, reduce to a simmer then cover the pan and simmer gently for 20 minutes.
Stir in the milk and margarine then cover the pan and cook for about 10 minutes more, or until the rice is very tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed.
Sweeten to taste with sugar (typically a lot of sugar is added) and serve hot for breakfast.
