Ingredients:
1 medium-sized taro corm
1 onion
1 tsp salt (or to taste)
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
Oil for frying
Method:
Peel the taro corm and grate into the bowl. Grate the onion into the same bowl.
Season to taste with salt and black pepper then mix thoroughly to combine.
Transfer to a cloth and squeeze out the excess liquid.
Place a frying pan over medium heat. Add a glug of oil then mound in half the taro and onion mixture, flattening by pressing with a spatula to about 10°Cm in diameter.
Fry the rösti about 5 minutes on each side, until golden brown. Place on a plate lined with a paper towel.
