Buckwheat Kasha is a traditional Ukrainian recipe for a classic porridge-like staple made from kasha, finely-milled buckwheat groats flavoured with butter. The full recipe is presented here and I hope you enjoy this classic Ukrainian version of: Buckwheat Kasha.

Ingredients:
180g kasha (buckwheat groats)
5 tbsp butter
850ml boiling water
Method:
Wash and rinse the kasha in plenty of water. Melt 3 tbsp of the butter in a large pan, add the kasha and cook for 3 minutes until the grains are coated in butter. Stir-in the boiling water, bring to a simmer, cover and and cook for 10 minutes.
Typically this is served as an accompanied to kidney and liver dishes.
