This recipe comes from a number of sources and is represented here as an 'average' recipe for the Medieval 'all purpose' sweet spice mix that's typically employed to season sweet dishes.

Modern Redaction

Ingredients:

1 tbsp ground cinnamon
1½ tbsp ground mace
1/2 tbsp ground pepper
2 tbsp ground galingale
1 tbsp crushed cardamom

Method:

Simply grind all the ingredients together in a pestle and mortar and store in an air-tight jar.

This will keep for several months.
