English Translation

Crab cakes are delicious, from the get-go, but barbecuing (or grilling) them dials up the flavour even more. Indeed, this recipe will become a fast favourite! This is a contemporary recipe, a fusion dish, which is suitable as a starter for a St. Dwynwen's Day meal or could just as easily be served as the first course of St. David's Day.

Ingredients:

2 x 170g tins of crab meat, drained
180ml panko breadcrumbs
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 egg, lightly beaten
2 garlic cloves, crushed
3 tbsp sour cream or Greek yogurt
1 tbsp parsley, chopped
1 tsp chilli sauce
1/2 tsp of salt
1/2 tsp of black pepper

Method:

Transfer the crabmeat to a bowl and beat it with a fork. Add all the other ingredients, mixing with a fork before using your hands.

Divide the mixture into 4 or 5 equal pieces before shaping them into patties. Transfer the patties to a shallow dish before placing in your refrigerator to rest for at least an hour.

Meanwhile heat your barbecue or grill to medium high heat. Before cooking grease your griddle with oil.

Place the crab cakes on your barbecue (or under your grill) and cook for 10 minutes on each side.

Serve with a green salad or in a burger.
