Bara Carwe Ynys Môn (Anglesea Caraway Bread)
Bara Carwe Ynys Môn (Anglesea Caraway Bread) is a traditional Cymric (Welsh) recipe for a tea-time loaf cake spiced with caraway seeds that originates on the island of Anglesea. Interestingly, this is an eggless batter. This recipe happens to be vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free. The full recipe is presented here and I hope you enjoy this classic Welsh version of: Anglesea Caraway Bread (Bara Carwe Ynys Môn).

English Translation
Caraway loaf is a traditional tea-time cake cake, simple and quick to make that's spiced simply with whole caraway seeds. I remember my grandmother making these and thought it important to preserve a family recipe.
Ingredients:
450g (1 lb) plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
75g (2 1/2 oz) butter
30g (2 oz) sugar
15g (1/2 oz) caraway seeds
50g (1 3/4 oz) ground almonds
300ml (1 1/4 cups) milk
a little salt
Method:
Sift together the flour and baking powder into a bowl. Mix in the ground almonds and rub in the butter.
Add all the remaining dry ingredients, moisten with the milk then mix until light.
Transfer the batter into a grease cake tin then transfer to a moderately hot oven (about 175ºC) and bake for about 1 hour.
Allow to cool in the tin for 10 minutes then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely before slicing and serving.
