Cynhwysion:

240g blawd plaen
1/4 llwy de o bowdwr pobi
240g siwgwr
240g ffrwythau sych cymysg
1 llwy de or sbeis cymysg
1 ŵy wedi curo
ychydig o lefrith

Dull:

Cymysgwch y cynhwysion sych ynghŷd cyn ychwanegu'r ŵy. Cymysgwch yn drwyadl yna ychwanegwch ddigon o lefrith i ddod a'r gymysgfa i gynsodeb toes cacen. Tywaltwch y gymysgfa i dun torth wedi ei iro a gosodwch mewn popty wedi ei gyn-gynhesu i 160°C (320°F/Gas Mark 3) am tua awr. Fe ddyliai'r gacen fod wedi lliwio yn dda ac fe gydd sgiwer wedi ei suddo i ganol y gacen yn do allan yn lân). Gadewch i'r gacen oeri ar resel gwifrog cyn torri a gweini gyda tomen o fenyn.

English Translation


This is a rich fruit cake traditionally served with teas after a funeral. But it's a good recipe suitable to be served at any time!

Ingredients:

240g plain flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
240g sugar
240g mixed dried fruit
1 tsp mixed spice
1 egg, beaten
a little milk for mixing

Method:

Mix all the dry ingredients together then add the egg. Mix thoroughly and begin adding the milk a little time. You want the final consistency to be about that of a cake batter. Tip the batter into a greased loaf pan and place in an oven pre-heated to 160°C (320°F/Gas Mark 3). Bake for about 1 hour, or until the cake is nicely coloured and a skewer inserted into the centre of the cake emerges cleanly.

Allow to cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving with plenty of butter.
